Acceptable Use Policy
Effective: 2026-04-28
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements the Terms of Service. By using the Spinal Service Customer and its users agree not to do any of the following.
1. Authorisation and lawful use
Customer will not:
- Submit or analyse source code or systems that Customer is not authorised to access or analyse.
- Use the Service to violate any law or third-party right, including intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, trade-secret, or export-control laws.
- Use the Service to process Special Categories of Personal Data (Art. 9 GDPR), Personal Data of children under 16, payment-card data subject to PCI DSS, or government-classified data, unless explicitly permitted in writing.
2. Service integrity
Customer will not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying models, training data, weights, or system prompts of the Service.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach its security or authentication, except via Spinal's coordinated-disclosure programme (security@getspinal.com).
- Bypass rate limits, plan limits, quotas, or technical access controls; share credentials across organisations; or create accounts by automated means.
- Take any action that materially disrupts the Service's integrity, availability, or other customers' use, including denial-of-service activity.
3. Content and AI use
Customer will not use the Service to generate, store, or distribute content that:
- Is unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, infringing, or harassing.
- Constitutes malware, exploits, surveillance tooling, or other code primarily designed to cause harm.
- Violates the usage policies of the model providers Spinal uses to deliver the Service (currently Anthropic's Usage Policy at anthropic.com/aup). Customer can request the latest provider policies at privacy@getspinal.com.
Customer will also not:
- Use the Service to develop a competing product or model, including by using AI Output as primary training material for a competing model.
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service except as expressly permitted in writing.
4. Reporting abuse
Suspected abuse, security issues, or violations of this AUP can be reported to:
- General abuse: abuse@getspinal.com
- Security vulnerabilities: security@getspinal.com
5. Enforcement
Spinal may, in its reasonable discretion, suspend or terminate access for breach of this AUP, with or without notice depending on the severity. Spinal will give notice where reasonable. Termination for AUP breach is without refund of fees already paid.
